Facilities provided by George's Circle

George's Circle offers its contributors the usual file uploads but without the need for special FTP software. Apart from this - if contributors register their pages - it provides the following facilities:

• Access permissions per page to the owner only or to those visitors who can supply a password specified by the owner.
• Provision of per page weekly, monthly and yearly visit and page access statistics.
• Automatic and manual language switching depending on the visitor's or contributor's preferences.
• Provision of configurable templates that allows contributors to give their website a uniform appearance and allows them to concentrate on the contents of their pages.
• Multimedia streaming.
• Posting notices online to the notice board.
• Support for blogging.
• A searchable document database.
• Insertion of common code into a page with an include command.
• Secure transmission via SSL of passwords and other sensitive data.
• Access to a database on the server.
• Provision of a comprehensive set of commands for database access and data manipulation to be executed on the server.
• Provision of a comprehensive set of JavaScript and Java commands to be executed on the client machine.
• Provision of resources (icons, tiles, etc.) to download.

Of course, it cannot be implemented all at once. The Webmaster's Notices show the list of facilities already available.
